5:00 - 5:30 p.m. New Members & First-time Attendees Meet-up Millyard Museum Conferences are great, but meeting people is better! Come socialize with other new members, meet the executive board, and find a NAHSL conference buddy!
5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Welcome Reception Millyard Museum Join us Sunday, October 28th, from 5:30-7:30 pm for hors d’ouevres and drinks at the Millyard Museum, just a short walk (or slightly longer drive/bus ride) down the street from the Manchester Downtown Hotel. The amazing history of Manchester is revealed in this really lovely museum, which is located in one of the original Amoskeag Manufacturing Company’s mill buildings. You’ll see not only examples of what the mills produced, but also Manchester’s role in the early history of the United States, stories of immigration and more, and you can even view actual tunnels used to direct water from the river to drive the mill engines!
After the Reception, we encourage you to explore some of the restaurants that have earned Manchester its reputation for innovative cuisine.
About the Millyard Museum Operated by the Manchester Historic Association, the Millyard Museum is housed in Mill No. 3 at the corner of Commercial and Pleasant Streets in the historic Amoskeag Millyard. The Museum features the permanent exhibit, Woven in Time: 11,000 Years at Amoskeag Falls, that tells the story of Manchester and the people who have lived and worked here. The story starts with the native peoples who fished at Amoskeag Falls 11,000 years ago and continues up through the 20th century.
